Exploring New York City in April

When I knew that I was headed to Upstate New York for a workshop with the Heart University, I knew that time in the City was exactly what I dreamed of. My mom and I jumped at the chance of Exploring New York City in April, and couldn’t have had a better time.

Grand Central Station

Our journey began at the heart of Manhattan, Grand Central Station. We ooh-ed and awed at the architecture, fit with detailed ceilings and elegant chandeliers.

Central Park

Escape the urban jungle and retreat to the tranquility of Central Park. Stroll along winding pathways, row across serene lakes, or simply relax beneath the shade of towering trees. With its lush landscapes and hidden treasures, Central Park offers a respite from the city’s frenetic pace.

Times Square

Next stop, we hit the wild energy of Times Square. The sea of neon lights, towering billboards, and bustling crowds. From world-class theaters to numbers of street performers, Times Square is the epitome of New York’s vibrant spirit. We considered it immediately like a commercial version of Las Vegas – and both agreed we needed fresh eyes and much more sleep before we could handle it all.

Hamilton on Broadway

The actual best moment from our weekend was considerably the nerdiest as well. We immersed ourselves in the rich tapestry of American history with a visit to “Hamilton” on Broadway. Experience the revolutionary tale of Alexander Hamilton through captivating performances, stirring music, and innovative storytelling.

Top of the Rock

Ascend to new heights at the Top of the Rock observation deck. From this vantage point atop Rockefeller Center, soak in panoramic views of the city skyline, with iconic landmarks stretching as far as the eye can see.

9/11 Memorial and Museum

Pay tribute to the resilience of the human spirit at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. Wander through the solemn reflecting pools, engraved with the names of those lost, and explore the museum’s poignant exhibits, honoring the lives impacted by the events of September 11, 2001.

Rockefeller Center

Discover the allure of Rockefeller Center, a cultural hub brimming with art, entertainment, and history. Whether skating at the iconic rink, admiring public art installations, or attending a live television broadcast, Rockefeller Center is a testament to New York’s enduring legacy.

As our journey through New York City comes to a close, we hope you’ve been inspired to explore the city’s diverse tapestry of sights, sounds, and experiences. Whether wandering through iconic landmarks or stumbling upon hidden gems, the magic of New York City awaits around every corner.
