Wedding Photos on Film at Vuka Austin | Blair + Matt

share /

Blair and Matt tied the knot on the first chilly day of the year amidst rain and dreariness. The joy and love inside the venue surpassed the impact of the weather. Adapting to indoor settings due to rain turned out to be a blessing! Vuka Bouldin Creek, with its nature-inspired setting, unique backyard, loft space, restored warehouse, and local artist tapestries, provided a perfect backdrop to inspire guests. I couldn’t have been more thrilled when Blair and Matt requested wedding photos on film—it added an extra layer of excitement to capturing their special day!

BLAIR AND MATT’S HISTORY: A LOVE STORY

Matt and Blair’s connection spans their entire lives, growing up in a small town. Despite knowing each other, they only spoke for the first time when Matt, a shy and mysterious guy, asked Blair to his senior prom during her sophomore year. Though minimal words were exchanged that night, life took them on separate paths as Matt left town for college.

Three and a half years later, during Thanksgiving break, they reconnected at a karaoke bar, and Blair was convinced Matt was her soulmate after witnessing his heartfelt rendition of “Little Pink Houses” by John Mellencamp. They swapped numbers and Spotify playlists, successfully navigating a long-distance relationship over the next eight months. In October 2018, Blair popped the “What are we” question, and the rest, as they say, is history!

Blair, being a photographer, added a personal touch by incorporating images of absent loved ones at the entrance. The couple’s attention to detail was evident in capturing specific moments, and they carried sentimental touches like Grandma’s presence in the bouquet. Adding charm to the occasion, a close friend, who plays the guitar live, performed during both the ceremony and dances.

“Your work feels like it’s telling a story and fits perfectly with the style of editing I’m interested in. Your timeless style is perfect for Matt and me, as we are both old souls. Not to mention, we are hoping to get married in a chapel built in the early 1900s. I have been looking for the perfect photographer to book around my venue, and I would love for it to be you!”

WHY SHOULD YOU ADD PHOTOS ON FILM TO YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE?

Incorporating film photography into your wedding adds a timeless and authentic touch that sets it apart from digital images. The film’s grainy texture and warm tones capture raw emotions and real moments, resulting in a lasting and genuine feel. Film’s timeless nature allows you to look back and detach from a specific timeline. Opting for wedding photos on film preserves the depth of images, capturing details flawlessly as film cameras efficiently handle light, managing shadows and highlights with ease.
