Lake Austin Antique Boat Engagement Session

share /

When Maycie was first telling me how Calvin popped the question, I never imaged the sweet story that was to come, and how we would include those details in their Lake Austin antique boat engagement session.

Calvin’s family has had this sweet antique boat in the family for generations. After Calvin’s grandfather passed, he inherited it, and completely restored it with his girlfriend Maycie. Once complete, they took it out on the water weekly for fishing trips. On a certain trip out on the lake, Maycie wanted pampas grass for a friend’s party, and didn’t want to spend the hundreds it would cost from a store (so smart!). She and Calvin explored the lake until they found the perfect pampas, and she hung off the front of the boat cutting down the perfect pieces. As she handed grass back to Calvin, he asked “what do you want me to do with this?”. Of course, Maycie was confused, turned around, and found Calvin on one knee.

When we were planning their perfect engagement photos, we knew the boat was essential, and immediately decided on going out to Lake Austin, and celebrating their engagement right where they become fiancé’s!
